Posta Rangers’ tittle charge was punctured at the dreaded Sudi Stadium, Bungoma by hosts Nzoia Sugar FC who handed them a bitter 1-0 loss in the Kenyan Premier League round 19 fixtures Sunday.

In Nakuru, docile AFC Leopards succumbed 1-0 to Bandari FC at the Afraha Stadium.

Defending champions Tusker bounced back with a 2-1 win over floundering Western Stima to climb to third in the standings.

Nzoia revenged 2-1 first leg loss to Posta Rangers with a hard fought 1-0 win in the reverse tie.

Lawarance Juma netted the lone goal with panache – controlling Victor Omondi’s precise through pass before placing it past Posta keeper Farouk Shikalo.

The win was Nzoia’s third on the trot and take them 6th in the table standings on 29 points.

Posta remain second on 33 points – four behind leaders and record holders Gor Mahia, who swept aside strugglers Muhoroni Youth 2-0 on Saturday.

Bandari FC compounded AFC Leopards’ woes – handing them back to back losses with a 1-0 defeat.

Hassan Abdalla scored the only goal of the match minutes to the first interval – handing the former champions a ninth loss of the season.

Ingwe, as Leopards are known slump to 13th on the log with 20 points, while Bandari move to position 9 with 26 points.

A moment of indiscipline reared its head in the second half when Ugandan Allan Katerrega bitterly protested his substitution minutes after his introduction.

The no-nonsense Ingwe gaffer Robert Matano felt the dreadlocked attacking midfielder was not helping his course and decided to pull him out for Marcellus Ingosti moments after bringing on.

A visibly angry, Katerrega raced to technical bench to express his anger in a bitter fashion.
