Ghana Premier League side, Asante Kotoko have shown Head coach, Maxwell Konadu the exit due to poor performance.
The Porcupine Warriors lost 1-0 at home to Great Olympics in their outstanding week three game at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday night.
The former Ghana Premier League champions are currently 11th with 5 points on the pile after 4 games.
Maxwell Konadu guided Asante Kotoko to their 22nd league title in 2012.
The 47 year-old was hired as Asante Kotoko gaffer in December 2019 on a 2 year deal, replacing Norwegian, Kjetil Zachariassen, who was sacked due to below par performances.
Assistant coach, Johnson Smith will take charge of the team on the interim until a substantive coach is appointed.
A tweet on the club’s official Twitter handle Friday morning, reads:
“Management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club wishes to inform the general public that it has decided to part ways with Coach Maxwell Konadu as its Head Coach with immediate effect.”
“Coach Johnson Smith has been appointed to lead the team in the interim.”
