Oliech missing as Harambee Stars coach Migné names 24-man squad to face Ghana

Kenya’s national team Harambee Stars coach Sébastien Migné has called up a 24-man squad to start preparations ahead of their last AFCON 2019 qualifier game against Ghana’s Black Stars later in March away in Accra.

For the second time coach Sébastien Migné has not included Gor Mahia’s Dennis Oliech in the team despite his fine form since his return from “retirement” . Oliech is the second highest scorer in Kenyan history with 34 goals to his name for reasons only known to him as coach keeps on claiming he has to see Oliech before making his decision.


Sébastien Migné has instead called up new inclusions including Crawley Town  FC defender David Sessay ,Christopher Tangen Mbamba who plays for Swedish outfit Oskarshamns  FC has also received  the call -up to beef up the Stars midfield that will be marshalled by skipper Victor Wanyama of Tottenham Hotspurs FC and Ismael Gonzales of Spanish side UD Las Palmas B.

Zesco FC defender David ‘Calabar’ Owino who has since recovered from a nagging injury.

Another notable inclusions include Duke Abuyaof Kariobangi Sharks, Faruok Shikhalo of Bandari.

Harambee Stars are set to hit camp on March 17 in Nairobi ahead of the clash against Ghana.

Kenya stunned three-time African champions Ghana 1-0 to open the door for the 2019 AFCON finals qualification at the MISC, Kasarani last October.
