An Example of promotion and staying in the league
Dear Lumwana Radiants Exco
That’s one big lesson that other teams have to learn if they get promotion and hope to remain in the Super league. A good example of positive progression.
The 2017 season was your second season in the first tier of Zambian football, and your first to end the season that high on eighth since your promotion in 2015.
You are an example of what is called improving. From fighting relegation in 2016 to fighting for a possible top four in 2017 was amazing for me and everyone am sure who follows Zambian football.
During the 2016 season, you finished in 14th and survived relegation even with that last game loss to Napsa Stars via a Lukwembe goal.
You also lost the last game of the season in 2017 to Buildcon but the league table position is very impressive than that of 2016. This time it was 8th position. Good job.
In doing so, you became the first Club from North Western Province to enter the Super League and survive . You are writing your own history and it will take forever to remember this.
2018 Season
We are about to start the preparations for the season and as your custom you are mute on what you are doing. People actually forget there is Lumwana in the league because of your being close – mouthed …. Before we know it you will be ready and able to beat Green Buffaloes at home.
There is one advantage though that you have and that is avoiding star names and playing as a unit and that on its own has been your strength.
The challenge some of us have with your team is we don’t know how they will turn up in the 2018 season and make us look forward to what you are bringing this time around.
Perhaps your cry that your games are not shown on supersport is an advantage that makes you not lose a lot of players because no one is watching them.
With evidence that we all saw last season, I don’t think you will be candidates for demotion and the title looks far feteched too so we seem to be settling for mid table team unless you surprise us. As usual.
