Our biggest threat at CHAN is ourselves says Cranes coach Mckinstry

Uganda Cranes coach Johnathan Mckinstry has called for 100 percent commitment on and off the pitch as the team prepares to take part at the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in Cameroon.

The draw of the 2020 CHAN competition was conducted on Monday in Cameroon with Uganda falling into Group C.

2019 Cecafa Challenge Cup champions Cranes have been pooled with Rwanda, Togo and Morocco.

Reacting to the draws, Mckinstry said there is enough talent in Uganda to compete at the CHAN.

“I think our biggest threat is ourselves. We have got to make sure that we perform because there’s more than enough talent here in Uganda,” Mckinstry said.

“The team effort and the work ethic that we have shown already is of the level that we can progress.

“So we have got to make sure that we put in a ten out of ten performance not just in the matches but everyday in training.”

The 2020 CHAN will take place from 4 to 25 April in Cameroon.
