Pepiniere Fc emerged the winner of the 2016 Second Division League title after edging Kirehe Fc 4-3 on penalties on Sunday afternoon at Kicukiro turf.

The normal regulation time ended in a 2-all draw with Prince Longalonga and Mugwarakama scoring vital goals for Pepiniere Fc but Jean Pierre Bizimungu and Alex Sinagaye cancelled them out.

With both teams tied on a 2-all draw, the winner was decided through penalties with Pepiniere Fc converting 4-3 against Kirehe Fc.

Both Pepiniere Fc and Kirehe Fc will compete in the 2016/17 Azam Rwanda Premier League, replacing AS Muhanga and Rwamagana City who were relegated last season.
