Rangers international of Enugu  are on a high when they take on  Maiduguri side El Kanemi warriors in  their last League match with victory in mind.

The flying antelopes  are  on the brink of winning their seventh Nigerian League title. To achieve this  sumptuous  feat, all they need to do is avoid defeat in tomorrow’s final game with El Kanemi Warriors at the 30,000 Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu alsoc christend  the “Cathedral”
The Enugu state  based team needs victory in their last match to be crowned the Nigeria league champions .They won the league in 1974, 1975, 1977, 1981, 1982 and 1984 but have never come this close to winning it in the modern era in which the top tier has been rechristened from the Old First Division to the Professional League, to the Premier League and now the NPFL.

State governor  Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi gave orders that the gates  to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu be thrown wide open  to allow fans be part of the coronation of ‘The flying antelopes’  as they set to be crowned the nigeria champions  after  a 32 year  long wait.

Rangers captain Etim Mathew said they will not take anthying for granted at home against aganst El Kanemi on sunday . “As a team we are determined to finish the season on a high by winning our last game in front of our home fans ,” said Mathew whose family will come from Uyo to cheer him to an historic victory.
