Nyanza-based Rayon Sports will relocated to Kigali on Thursday ahead of their return leg tie against Egyptian giants Zamalek in the first round of the Caf Confederations Cup due April 5 at the Amahoro Stadium.

According to the club’s spokesman Aime Emmanuel Niyomusabye, the move was to  help the players acclimatize at the match venue.

Newly-appointed coach Jean Baptiste Kayiranga is anxious to impress his employers and what better way to do so than eliminate the five-time continental champions! But he has admitted that it will be a tall order.

Rayon Sports lost 3-1 in the first leg but Isaac Muganza’s away goal has since brought hope to the Blues’ camp that a good result at home could see them cause an upset.

Goalkeeper Jean Luc Ndayishimiye and midfielder Djihad Bizimana, who have been away on national team duty with the Amavubi in Zambia, are expected to attend training on Thursday.

Rayon Sports will be looking to avoid complacency as displayed in last year’s Caf Champions League preliminary round when they held Democratic Republic of Congo’s AC Leopards to a goalless draw in Kinshasa, led 2-0 at home in the second half but conceded two late goals in five minutes leading up to their eventual elimination.
