Red Hot Getaneh Kebede’s brace lifts Bidvest Wits massive win over Swallows

Ethiopian International Getaneh “Gecho”Kebede stunning brace helped Bidvest Wits to recover from their midweek loss to humiliate Moroka Swallows 3-0 on Friday evening in the South African PSL .

Red hot Getaneh started thee match like a house on fire running rings around Swallows defense and in the 18th minute his effort paid off handsomely capitalizing from a defensive lapse putting the ball behind the net to give Bidvest Wits the deserved 1-0 lead.

The game went into the break with Bidvest leading 1-0 and upon resumption they continued from where they left and Gecho got his brace in the 56th minute from a perfect Losper cross that found him in the well positioned in the box to make it 2-0 for Wits.Sameehg Doutie beautiful free kick gave Wits all the three points as he scored the third goal.

Getaneh who is expected to travel to Ethiopia for Africa Cup of Nations qualifer against Algeria has been in fine form that will definitely be an asset for Walia Ibex coach Mariano Barreto as he prepares for the do or die clash against Algeria on the 7th September at the National Stadium,Addis Ababa.

Last year Gecho played an integral part in the team’s success but was injured in Congo Brazaville as Ethiopia were preparing to play Central Africa Republic.
