Harambee Stars and Mathare United teen sensation Eric Johanna Kubasu has been offered a trial opportunity  at top Swedish club AIK Fotboll soka25east.com  can exclusively reveal.

In a letter to the Swedish embassy the club’s director Bjorn Wesstrom clearly indicated to the consular department to issue the 2015 Kenyan  premier league player of the year with a visa for a one month trial period that starts from August 1st to September.

On  his part an elated Eric Johana Okubasu said it was a great opportunity and a dream as a footballer.

“I am delighted to get this great opportunity to futher my football career and I intend to make the best out of it and show AIK that they got the right man for the job”Kubasu told soka25east.com

Eric Johana Kubasu has been consistent for both his club Mathare United where he scored seven goals and six assists in the 2015 season as his club finished ninth in the Kenyan premier league.

The 21 year old scored the winning goal for Kenya collecting a sweet overlapping ball from Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama to beautifully lob over an advancing Congo Brazaville keeper winning their first game in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The win later propelled Kenya to 86th in the latest FIFA ranking released in July leapfrogging 43 places.

Kubasu is an attacking midfielder who rarely loses possession he is Technically gifted with  foot skills able to take players on while  playing  in small spaces and keeping  the ball under control in all positions.He has the magnificent touch where he is able to play through balls,long balls and crosses .

Kubasu is also able to shoot from long and short distances with a  physical threat in the air finishing and winning head balls where he is  dangerous in the air in and around the box.He is the kind of player that protects  the ball from defenders while waiting for teammates to join the attack being a  threat every time he  touches the ball.

Kubasu has also attributes where  he puts Relentless pressure on the opposing defensive third Creating chances  in tight spaces in and around the opponents box while also being a Clinical finisher of the ball.

He has also proved he has a hero’s quality  as he is able to put the team on their back and finish the game with one strike of the ball like he has done severally for his club Mathare United and national team Harambee Stars where he is nowadays a regular in the starting 11.

When he won the prestigious Kenyan Premier league midfielder of the year award  Johanna saw off competition from  Gor Mahia’s Khalid Aucho and  AFC Leopards’ Bernard Mang’oli who were second and third respectively.

The other nominees for the award were Bandari duo of Bandari’s David King’atua and Anthony Kimani.

His consistency in the season at both the club and national team – where he earned his first cap in a 2016 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Ethiopia, saw him bag the accolade at the end of season awards.
