Zimbabwe and CAPS United midfielder Ronald Chitiyo has completed a big move to Tunisian top league side SC Sfaxien on a three-year deal.

The deal confirmed by the club is believed to be worth around $60,000.

“Ronald Chitiyo’s move to Club Sportif Sfaxien in Tunisia has been successfully concluded, with the player signing a three-year contract,” the club posted on Facebook.

Nicknamed “Rooney” after the former Manchester United’s deadly striker, Chitiyo made his continental presence felt during the 2017 CAF Champions League campaign.

His lone goal away to DRC heavyweights TP Mazembe secured the Makepekepe family first ever group qualification.

Even though CAPS United did not make the quarters, Chitiyo and a host of other players in the squad made a name for themselves and raised their profile in the continent.

He scored two beautiful goals as CAPS dispatched Algerian side USM Alger at the National Stadium, Harare and was subsequently drafted in the CAF’s team of the week.

His teammate Abbas Amidu has also secured a move a broad with Saudi Arabia’s Al Weda FC.

Ronald Pfumbidzai on the other hand is set for Bloemfontein Celtic move in the South Africa’s Premier Soccer League after successful trials.

The moves are expected to boost CAPS coffers as they seek to return to the continental scene next year much stronger.
