Rwanda: Amavubi set for training camp in Morocco

Rwanda’s national football team Amavubi will be heading to Morocco next month for a 10-day intensive training camp as part of preparations for CHAN 2016 and FIFA World Cup qualifiers set for November.

The CHAN team which comprises purely home based pros fell 1-0 to Gabon at home in their first build up match in an international friendly played on Saturday 12.

Engozoo Avebe beautifully carved free kick at the edge of the box in the 35th minute secured the win for the visitors.

Head Coach John McKinstry believes the loss should serve as a good lesson to the team as they continue to prepare for the continental showpiece (CHAN) which they host in January next year.

“If you come against reasonably good terms they will punish you for not being at your best from the first minute,” he was quoted by FERWAFA website.

“This was the first game of the CHAN team and we are going to have more in the next four to five months.” He added.
