Ronnie Lusurile,

Express F.C midfielder has expressed happiness after landing a call up to Uganda national team “the Cranes.”

Saddam who has lately featured prominently for “the Red Eagles” in Ugandan Premier League cites ‘special dedication’ and courage from friends for his improved performances.

“A lot of people have come to me and assured me that I have the potential, and that many don’t have my abilities.
Personally, I was encouraged by such positive talks, and I gave my whole. In fact, I sacrificed a lot as I also intensified my training to be the player I am today.”

Saddam last donned the national colours coach under Bobby Williamson in 2013 in an away trip to Egypt.

“I am not yet there. I am on a journey and I keep working hard to achieve my best in life. I am pleased for those who have seen my abilities, and coach Micho for selecting me.”

The national team will play a friendly match against Kampala region select side this Saturday at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Then on Tuesday, they will face Zambia in an international build up match at Namboole ahead of 2018 World Cup qualifier against Congo Brazzaville three days later.
