Taifa Stars skipper Mbwana Samatta’s bullish form for KRC Genk in the Europa League qualifiers continued with another goal in a 2-2 stalemate away to Locomotiva Zagreb on Thursday at Stadion Kranjcevicenca, Croatia.

The second leg of the last hurdle will be played at Cristal Arena, Belgium in a week’s time with the aggregate winner qualifying for the group phase of the Europe’s second tier club competition.

Genk will have themselves to blame for letting go a healthy 2-0 lead to settle for the draw. Leon Bailey converted from the spot to give the Coach Peter Maes’s charges a head start in the 35th minute.

Red hot Samatta doubled the advantage in the 47th minute with a spectacular header from right inside the box off a cross from the right, as all looked set for an easy win, but it was not to be.

Mirko Marić commenced the comeback for Zagreb in the 52nd minute from the penalty spot to reduce the deficit to 2-1 before Ivan Fiolic completed the turnaround in the 58th minute, rounding up Genk keeper before burying into an open net to share the spoils.
