Since March 2016, Yunus Sentamu’s journey to Finnland has been decimated by visa and work permit delays.

The 21 year old Uganda Cranes’ striker who broke to prominence at CHAN 2014 in South Africa required a lot of patience till he finally traveled three months later.

Now based in Tampere City, Sentamu whose eagle eye for goal has often left the opposition defenders in suspense is anticipating debut at Ilves Tampere football club.

“I have settled in well and look set to play in my first game for the club”

Sentamu has previously played at Vipers (Uganda), AS Vita (DR Congo) and Etoil Du Sahel (Tunisia).

Even after the club resolved to sign the 28-year-old Nigerian striker Yero Bello from Israel Premier League side FC Ashdod, Sentamu was still given the lee way to travel to Finnland.

Ilves is currently number five in the 12 team league of the Veikkausliiga top flight division.

They host their home games at the 5,040-capacity Tammela Stadium in Tampere city.
