ES Setif are through to the 2017 Algeria Coupe Nationale after an extra-time 3-2 victory at MC Alger on Saturday.

The 1st leg ended 2-1 in favour of MC Alger and Setif needed to turn the tables for a final place.

Mohamed Ziti put Setif in the lead in the 28th minute of the opening. However, 2 miutes later MC Alger responded courtesy of Sid Ahmed Aouedj to restore parity.

It was looking as though, the game was going out of the hands of Setif but they were handed a lifeline with a last minute grasp equalizer by Abdelkader Bedrane to send the game into extratime.

A chip inn goal by Abdelmouneme Djabou in the 115th minute by ES Setif meant that MC Alger needed to net twice to remain in the game. However, they could only found the net once through Brahim Boudebouda to bring the game 3-3 on aggregate.

Setif advanced on the basis of away goals. In the final, they will play
CR Belouizdad who qualified for final earlier this week after beating USM Bel-Abbes on penalties.
