Shollei – We want football to be managed by the real owners of the game

Ex – Kenyan international Sam Shollei is the latest entrant into the Football Kenya Federation ( FKF ) presidency race.

Making the long speculated announcement at the Nyayo National Stadium on Wednesday 23, the former Rivatex,Raymond, Kitale and Tusker FC man stressed on the need for change in the way the Kenyan game is run.

“We have opportunists who have taken advantage of the following and love of football for their own personal gain. We want football to be managed by the real owners of the game,” Shollei told Soka25east.com

Flanked by fellow former internationals, Dan Shikanda and Eric Obura, buoyant Shollei also launched his campaign slogan “Stop Football Genocide, a statement of sorry state of the game in the country.

“Football in Kenya has suffered a great deal in the hands of administrators who have never had a passion for the game except to use it as a conduit to satisfy their own selfish interests,” He added

Others in the race for the top seat includes; incumbent Sam
Nyamweya, Kariobangi Sharks chairman Nick Mwendwa, former Youth Enterprise Funds boss Gor Semelang’o and Sirisia Member of Parliament John Waluke.
