SIBELEKI: Apples don’t fall far from the Musonda family

Flashback 1993,Zambians were skeptical of Charles Musonda’s eagerness to wave higher the flag of his country.

Reports emerged that the midfielder had faked an injury so as to be excluded from squads for 1994 AFCON and the World cup which clashed with the plane in the 1993 Gabon Air Disaster.

Fans across the nation were outraged by Musonda for prioritizing his club’s duties thus snubbing national team call.

Once again the Musondas a trending in social media for unpatriotic reasons. This time,Charly Musonda jnr synounmously to his father Musonda snr has turned down a call from national team coach Lwandamina.Surely, apples don’t fall far from the Musonda family in that ‘footballing talent’ is their chief asset and not having the eagerness to wave the Zambian flag higher.

Some sectors reckons Kalusha Bwalya is trying to piggyback Charly Musonda’s call up to Chipolopolo to win the hearts of the councillors for the forthcoming FAZ incumbent elections billed for march 19th 2016.The afformentioned might be a valid reason, but by turning down Lwandamina’s call Charly has stubbed Zambian fans in cold blood.

Chipolopolo belongs to the the Zambians and if there is an existance of a rivalry between Kalusha Bwalya and Charles Musonda should have taken away from natinal matters.

Charly Musonda is neither a Belgan nor an English player. He is yet to decide on his national team future. As long as Zambia were still on the card, fans had every right to dream of him donning in Chipolopolo colours.
