Simba SC French coach Pierre Lechantre has abandoned the team in Nakuru, Kenya without notice.

Lechantre was in the neighboring country for the 2018 SportPesa Super Cup and on Tuesday led the team past Kariobangi Sharks on penalty in the quarters at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru.

But he was loudly missing Thursday as the Dar giants made the final after edging out Kakamega Homeboyz also on post-match penalty in the semis at the same venue.

According to a credible source the 68-year-old abruptly left after failing to secure his future at the 19-times Tanzania champions.

With his six-month contract running out in the coming weeks, the management is seemingly dragging its feet and is not willing to hand him a new deal despite the gaffer guiding them to their first league title in six years this year.

“Simba aren’t satisfied with the brand of football the team is playing. They accuse him of being defensive.

“But the bottom line is money. Him and his two assistants are on $33,000 per month,” the source told Soka25east.

Simba are yet to win a match in open play in their last four outings.
