Siyabonga Nomvethe has announced his retirement at the age of 40, stating that the current season will be his last in his professional football career.

 

The announcement of the veteran striker’s retirement has been confirmed by AmaZulu today (Friday). According to the club, Nomvethe will still be a part of their squad until December, when his contract ends.

The club has explained that Bhele is still part of the squad and is available for selection until the end of his contract but the parties decided that they wanted to announce that the 2018/19 campaign will be his last season with the club and as a professional footballer.

“The former Bafana Bafana striker’s contract ends in December. He will remain a part of the Usuthu squad until then. A match in his honour will be announced soon,” confirmed AmaZulu on Twitter.
