South Sudan Police issue warrant on former SSFA boss Chabur

Former South Sudan FA President Chabur Goc Alei was on Saturday issued with an arrest warrant for the misappropriation of funds of the federation.

Chabur who is out of the country could not appear before the law courts in Juba to answer to the charges of bribery and misappropriation of Federation funds.

Police have warned that Alei will be arrested upon arrival in the country over the allegations which have already led to his ban by FIFA.

On Friday May 24, 2019 FIFA handed a 10 year ban to Chabur. The Football governing body said in a statement on its website that Chabour Goc Alei had been found “guilty of having misappropriated Fifa funds, as well as having offered gifts or benefits, in violation of the Fifa Code of Ethics.”
In its decision, the adjudicatory chamber found that Mr Alei had breached art. 28 (Misappropriation of funds) and art. 20 (Offering and accepting gifts or other benefits) of the 2018 edition of the FIFA Code of Ethics, and banned him from taking part in any kind of football-related activity (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level for a period of ten years. In addition, a fine in the amount of CHF 500,000 has been imposed upon him.

Alei is former FIFA standing committee member.
