SPL: Leopards confirm Chippo’s departure

By Bonface Osano,

AFC Leopards rough patch seems to be unending as today assistant Coach Yusuf Chippo parted ways with the 13-time Kenyan champions.

Chippo who has been the stand-in coach for a month now, since head coach Zdravko Logarusic went AWOL,threw in the towel this morning citing unfavorable working conditions.

This was confirmed by a Facebook post on the club’s official account.

“The club wishes to confirm the resignation of assistant coach Yusuf Chippo. We wish to thank him for his service to the club and wish him all the best in his future assignments,”

The club also announced that goalkeeper trainer Ezekiel Akwana will take over the reigns on a temporary basis as they await the return of the Croat.

“Goalkeeper trainer Ezakiel Akwana takes over the coaching role, awaiting the return of head coach Zdravko Logarusic.”

“Ingwe” has been in deep financial crisis since title sponsor Mumias Sugar left early this season; they have found it hard paying accrued salaries and allowances of players and coaching staff which run into millions of shillings.
