Nakumatt FC beat Tusker 2-1 in a SportPesa Premier League match played on Sunday afternoon at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

It was a positive start to the match for Nakumatt, who had the first shot on goal in the seventh minute, but Harun Nyakan saw his effort well-saved by the Tusker keeper.

Nakumatt opened the score in the 14th minute through a well-worked Kennedy Thairu screamer. Moses Odhiambo provided the delivery for Thairu.

Fine work from the Ndovus keeper, Lucas Indeche, saw him preventing a near equaliser in the 25th minute.

Tusker continued to throw players forward and managed to equalise at half an hour mark when Brian Osumba collected a pass from Boniface Muchiri to send a low show beyond Indeche to make it 1-1.

The Ndovus looked to claim the lead for the first time on 47 minutes, with Timonah Wanyonyi shooting on target from long range, but brewers scrambled across his line to palm the ball away for a corner kick.

Indeche once again stepped up for the Nakumatt, saving a powerful long range strike from Timothy Otieno in the 54th.

At the stroke of an hour, Cornelius Juma punished sloppy Tusker defense by sending in a powerful left-foot shot after collecting a fine pass from Boniface Mukhekhe.

The next chance on goal only came in the 71st minute when Njoroge played Kisiavuki into space inside the box, but the Nakumatt man shot straight at the keeper who made a comfortable save.

Otieno had two near chances for brewers later on in the match but the game ended 2-1. The win sees Nakumatt move up to 17th position, seventeen points behind leaders Gor Mahia who were held 3-3 draw by Sofapaka at the same venue.
