Sportpesa Super 8 PL – Ajax extends Metro Sports worrying winless streak, TUK edge Diguna

Ajax 2-1 Metro Sports

Ajax handed Metro Sports a 2-1 beating at Nakeel Grounds to extend their winless streak to three matches on Sunday.

Metro slides down the pecking order in the title race to fifth, eight points a drift of leaders Kayole Asubuhi who drubbed Baba Dogo 5-1 to cross the 30 points mark.

Ajax started the party quite early with just two minutes into the tie when Enock Gichuhi put them ahead from a superb run of play, but Julius Andende cut short their celebrations with an equalizer two minutes to the quarter hour mark.

A minute to the interval, Dennis Odongo came alive for the host handing them back the lead with a fine strike for a 2-1 lead.

The second stanza saw Ajax guard their precious lead jealously, fending off constant raids by the visitors. In the end, the West Conference side went home smiling having bagged all the points which took them to seventh on the log with twenty points.

TUK 1-0 Diguna FC

At the City Stadium, university students TUK pipped Diguna 1-0 to continue with their march to the top that took a small beating last week.

It was a perfect response from TUK who went down 2-1 to giant killers Melta Kabiria last weekend.

Kevin Okomo was the hero of the day for the students after scoring the crucial goal five minutes to the half hour mark. Diguna remains static at position six with 23 points and three games at hand.

MASA 2-1 Kiambiu Youth

In the second match at City Stadium, MASA got the better of Kiambiu Youth beating them 2-1.

John Odongo grabbed a fourth minute goal for the host, which lasted up to 43rd minute when Musili Lawrence drew matters level; Kevin Wangwe netted the winner for MASA three minutes after the one hour mark to secure maximum points.

MASA climbs four steps to eighth on the table standings with nineteen points, while Kiambiu drops from seventh to ninth with equal number of points.
