SportPesa Super 8 Premier League second leg continued on Sunday with four enthralling ties which produced a whopping eleven goals.

Jericho All Stars squandered a golden moment to move clear at the to of the log when they were held by Ajax at away.

Kayole Youth served the first ever walkover in the premium grassroots league when they failed show up to face Melta Kabiria. The remaining matches produced winners with Kabete United recording the biggest win against Kawangware United.

KABETE UNITED 3-1 KAWANGWARE UNITED

Kabete United set the tone for their second leg of the SportPesa Super 8 Premier League with a comfortable 3-1 home triumph over Kawangware United on Sunday 12 June at Kabete grounds.

Kabete were far better than their visiting opponents and they were hungry to close down the business early as Christopher Oponyo toed in the opener as early as the 3rd minute after kick-off and their lead would not last long as Daniel Muturi was on the mark seven minutes later for Kawangware to pull the tie level.

After holding on to the 1-1 score line, Kawangware would succumb to the attacking slickness of Kabete in the second half when Patrick Shikuri made it 2-1 at the hour mark and the Robert Orangi’s Kabete never looked back from then with Antony Kimani cushioning the win with a superb 83rd minute goal that guaranteed the West conference the vital three points.

Kabete currently have 21 points from their successful encounter and sit at position 9 on the SPS8 table standings while Kawangware at a distant 12 with 16 points.

MASA 2-0 DIGUNA FC

In another match played at Makongeni grounds, MASA registered a convincing 2-0 win over 6th placed Diguna FC.

After scoring a lone goal that sunk MASA at home, Diguna FC failed spectacularly at replicating the earlier performance while away as they were downed in the easiest of ways possible.

Kevin Wangwe inspired the Makongeni based outfit to the resounding victory as he claimed a brace after his side put a classic show to the delight of their home fans who showed support to their side with gleeful cheers on the sun soaked afternoon.

Wangwe had opened the scoring 7 minutes after kick-off before rounding up the rout at the stroke of half time as MASA overpowered the visiting West conference team who started the second half of their campaign on a sour note.

The win means that the Hassan Andale charges are now 7th placed on the log, a spot lower than Diguna are unchanged with 24 points.

BABA DOGO UNITED 2-1 SHAMAKO BABES

Baba Dogo United defeated West conference underdogs Shamako Babes 2-1 at Baba Dogo grounds.

The basement side were gifted their only goal when Baba Dogo’s Vinaly Oduor scored in his own net in the 36th minute for the West conference team to take the lead into the breather.

But things certainly changed in the 63rd minute when Baba Dogo scored the equalizer through Patrick Shikuri igniting the home team to action hitting the target yet again with seven minutes to spare on the clock for the winner through Antony Kimani.

By securing the three points, the East conference team is now have 17 points and sit at 12 on the 16-team log as Shamako are deeply rooted at the tail end with 5 points.

AJAX 0-0 JERICHO ALL STARS

Jericho All Stars failed to impress as they were held to a sullen barren draw by home side Ajax at Nakeel grounds in Rongai.
Ajax held forte in the match as they managed to hold the flying-high East conference bigwigs after achieving the same in the reverse fixture which ended 1-1 at Camp Toyoyo in March.

The visitors found the going tough as they failed to crack the West conference team who held forte until the end of the match forcing the Thomas Okong’s men to share the humble pie.

KAYOLE YOUTH VS MELTA KABIRIA

In what seems to be a crucial boost for Melta Kabiria’s campaign, the home team Kayole Asubuhi failed to show up for their encounter with the visiting West conference team and according to the rules of the competition, the Shadrack Atek’s men are likely to get all the maximum points plus two goals from the League’s and Competition Committee.
