Sportpesa Super 8 Premier League week 10 Preview

Sportpesa Super 8 Premier League week 10 Preview

Week 10 of Kenya’s biggest grassroots league, the Sportpesa Super 8 Premier League goes down this weekend with 8 fixtures on the cards.

The weekend’s pivotal point will most definitely be a clash between joint league leaders Metro Sports and on song Kabete United at Drive Inn on Saturday 2.

Kabete lately averages at least two goals per match, and is one of the most exciting sides to watch from the West Conference. Their last two matches produced seven goals in total, leaving no doubt about their scoring prowess.

Hat trick hero in the 3-1 thrashing of Shauri Moyo on Monday Simon “Tinky” Ochieng will be player to watch for Kabete. A win solidifies their top five position with 17 points.

Metro who were inactive over Easter on the other hand remains the only unbeaten side in the league and losing the record to Kabete is not in their vocabulary. A win will see them resume the drivers seat at the top of the table with 21 points.

Paul Ambetsa who boasts 5 goals thus far will be relied upon by Metro to continue delivering the goods.

Ajax FC vs Melta Kabiria

Nakeel Ground will host another tie of the day pitting faltering Ajax FC against a resurgent Melta Kabiria.

Ajax will be desperate for a win in three attempts to steady their ship while Melta who are now 6 points off the danger zone will be out to solidify the gains with a fourth straight win.

Three points could see Melta climb to top five and Ajax to 7th spot.

Massa vs Jericho All Stars

On Sunday 3, Jericho All Stars travel to City Stadium to face off with Massa, the match will be preceded by an early kick off between Shaurimoyo Blue Stars and Diguna FC.

All Stars bounced back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Kayole Youth on Monday, and they will be seeking to maintain the momentum when they face 10th placed Massa. Massa drew 1-1 with Baba Dogo in their last outing.

Any slip up for All Stars could see the gap between them and Metro whom they share with points (18) widen.

Victor Walera who has scored 4 times and Eddie Kirui who has also netted four times are some of the players to watch on the All Stars side.

Another interesting match to look forward to on Sunday will be between Kayole Youth and Kayole Asubuhi.

The derby will be staged at MYSA Headquarters Ground. Asubuhi are currently third on the log with 17 points, and on paper they are firm favorites against a bottom placed Youth side.

Stakes will be so high in this tie especially for Asubuhi who stand a chance to move top of the table with 20 points; for Youth, it will be another fight to move out of the relegation area.
