Sportpesa Super 8 Premier League Week 13 Preview – Metro Sports return, eyes top spot

Metro Sports vs Shauri Moyo Blue Stars

Sportpesa sponsored Super 8 Premier League will on Saturday 23 serve you five mouthwatering fixtures as the the biggest grass root league in Kenya enters week 13.

Metro Sports return to action versus high flying Shauri Moyo Blue Stars at Drive Inn Grounds with the sole aim of dislodging Jericho All Stars from the apex of the table. The second placed East Conference heavyweights were inactive last weekend as their match against Duguna was called off in honor of departed Diguna player Jeremy Omondi “Crespo”.

Jericho took the advantage to climb to the top of the log after thrashing Kiamaiko City 3-0, however this could change if Metro go past Shauri.

Metro are on 25 points, and three more will see them go one clear at the top if Jericho who have played a game more fail to win away to Baba Dogo.

Shauri on the other hand will be chasing the 7th kill of the season which could take them to 4th on the standings with 24 points. Also from the East, Shauri have shown a rich vein of form, and are currently on a two match winning streak, making this tie one to spare your time to watch.

Baba Dogo United vs Jericho All Stars

Jericho All Stars will have a chance to retain the first position on the table standings or even extend their lead when they visit 13th placed Baba Dogo United at Baba Dogo Grounds.

Jericho drubbed Kiamaiko City 3-0 over the weekend to ascend to the top of the log with 27 points, and they will be hoping the fine form will carry them past strugglers Baba.

The Makadara side boast the most prolific forward-line in the league. In 12 matches they have scored 23 times and only conceded 11 times, giving them a positive 12 goal difference.

Any slip ups however could see them slid down the perking order depending on how Metro and Kayole Asubuhi play their respective matches.

Baba lost to Kiamaiko 1-0 in their last league tie over the weekend, and this one offers them a chance to redeem themselves; a win could see them jump four places to ninth on the table with 16 points.

More Fixtures

In other matches of the day, Diguna who are 8th on the log will be back in action with a tie against 14th placed Melta Kabiria at Nakeel Grounds, the second match at the same venue will see 9th placed Ajax FC host bottom placed Shamako Babes.

Two matches will be played at Camp Toyoyo; University students TUK will face off with Kabete United at 1PM before giving way for a clash between Kayole Asubuhi and Kawangware United.

Third placed Kayole Asubuhi on 25 points same as Metro also have a mathematical chance of topping the group with a win depending on how the top two perform; their only disadvantage is the inferior goal difference.

The highest 4th placed TUK can reach is second place with 25 points if they beat Kabete United; this will also depend on how the other matches involving the top teams go.
