Sofapaka head coach Sam Ssimbwa has been named the August Fidelity Insurance Coach of the month after overcoming stiff competition from 15-time KPL champions Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr.

The Ugandan tactician who guided Batoto Ba Mungu to 4 consecutive victories in August against Muhoroni Youth, Thika United, Nakumat and Nzoia Sugar believes that the 2009 champions can still challenge for the KPL title against Gor Mahia.

“We started the league as underdogs but it’s commendable we have done well, especially in the second leg. There is a slim mathematical possibility of getting to the title but Gor Mahia have a huge advantage. Anything is possible in football though, and all we need to do is just win our matches one after another.”

The former SC Villa head coach took home a personalized trophy and Ksh 75,000 for the accolade.
Sam Ssimbwa will once again come face to face with his nemesis Posta Rangers head coach Sammy Omollo Pamzo on Saturday as the two sides clash in a mouthwatering KPL encounter.
