Tanzania Football Federation have ratified their rules to allow the signing by clubs of 10 foreign players and that all of them can play at the same time.

The new amendment was reached in Dar Es Salaam on the 12^th July 2018 after several clubs made requests to the federation to allow recruitment of more foreign players to bolster their teams ahead of the new season.

Tanzania has become a haven for foreign players notably from neighbouring countries,West Africa and Southern Africa.

With the new season just a month away the Tanzania football federation are of the opinion that the many foreign players will light up the impending Tanzania premier league.

Perfomance of Tanzanian clubs in continental matches has not been impressive in the past few years and it now remains to be seen how the new rule will affect both clubs and the national team Taifa Stars.
