Tanzania-Prisons get the better of Mbeya in City derby as Yanga continues fine run

The Tanzania mainland premier league returned for round three with a splendid performance from league’s defending champions Young Africans who humiliated JKT Ruvu 4-1 at the National Stadium.

Zimbabwean Donald Ngoma scored in the 30th minute from a Deus Kaseke pass for a 1-0 half time lead.

On resumption,just three minutes into the second half,Burundian Amid Tambwe connected a cross from Feud Kaseke to add the second before Ruvu’s captain George Minja pulled one back a minute later.

Yanga stretched their lead to three when Tambwe scored the third and his second of the day through a header after being  put through by Simon Msuva.Thabani Kamusolo completed the rout with the fourth in the 87th minute.

At the Sokoine Memorial Stadium at the City of Mbeya,rivals Prisons shocked fierce City neighbours Mbeya City when a Jumanne Elfadhil goal seperated the two sides in a mouth watering derby clash in the Southern Tanzania City.Prisons who lost to Mbeya City last season paid it’s supporters with a revenge match.

At the Kambarage Stadium in Shinyanga,a brace from Elias Maguri was enough as Stand United  inflicted more trouble on winless African Sports.

Maji Maji FC unbeaten run came to an abrupt end at the Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga when they lost to Mgambo JKT 1-0 with the lone goal slotted in by Felly Maganga.

Today more matches are on board.Money bags Azam FC will be at the Mwadui Complex to lock horns with newcomers Mwadui FC while Mtibwa Sugar will be at their Manungu-Tunani home in Morogoro to confront Ndanda FC of Mtwara.

Coastal Union will  aim for thrir first win when they entertain Mwanza based Toto African at their backyard in Tanga  while at the National Stadium in Dar,giants Sumba will lock horns with Kagera Sugar in a match that will be live on Azam TV.
