Tanzania:Taifa Stars players commence Afcon preps ahead of Egypt clash

The Tanzanian National team, the Taifa stars today entered residential camp at the Tansoma hotel near the Prisons Headquarters to prepare for the AFCON match qualifier against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

The match will be played on June 14th 2015 at the Borg El Arab in Alexandria, Egypt.

The team that is sponsored by beer makers Kilimanjaro lager consists of the players that featured in  the just concluded COSAFA  championship, the close to twenty players who have been on camp for the last  one week and the foreign based players. This brings the number of those in camp to a record 42 players.

The close forty players   will be reduced to 23. The forty two players will start training at the Gymkhana tomorrow and at the National Stadium in Temeke for 2 days before travelling to  Addis Ababa in Ethiopia where they will camp for one week thereafter travel to Egypt for the opening game of the AFCON 2017 qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the Tanzania has been invited by Rwanda for the Peace tournament from June 6th to 8th in Kigali. The U23 team will take part in the tournament and a team of 18 players will leave on 5th June for Kigali. They will be under Coach Salum Mayanja.
