Welayta Dicha coach Messay Teferi is tipped to deputize newly appointed Ethiopia’s Walia Ibex manager Ashenafi Bekele.

Teferi has had a low key season with Dicha in the Ethiopian Premier League, where they are currently 10th on the log standings after 15 rounds of matches with 17 points.

However his past record as a coach is fairly impressive.

Also rumored to fill up the vacant position at the national team is former international and St. George’s great Mullugeta Miheret.

Bekele was this month handed the mantle to restore Walia Ibex’s pride as the lead coach. He took over from Gebremethin Haile, who left the team in a huff after disagreeing with the Ethiopian Football Federation.
