Thika Queens completed a double over Ulinzi Starlets when they hosted the latter at the Thika Stadium. Thika bagged all three points in a 2-0 victory to further strengthen their lead atop zone A. The run away table toppers are on 24 points, eight more than second placed Gaspo Women.
After a barren draw in the first half, Thika Queens upped their tempo after resumption. It paid off in the 53rd minute when Mwanahalima ‘Dogo’ Adam struck the opener. It did not take long before Thika doubled their lead. Just a minute past the hour mark, Githae Catherine added a second toball but assure the hosts all three points.
This result see Ulinzi sit in third on 15 points, just a point below Gaspo Women who were 4-0 winners over Zetech Sparks. Two first half goals by Mercy Airo in the 2nd minute together with a 32nd minute goal by Diana Wacera put Gaspo ahead by half time. In the second half, Sheril Andiba and Wambui Mutukiza in the 74th & 78th added two goals to give Gaspo four unanswered goals. This leaves Zetech on position five on ten points just above the drop zone.
At the Nakuru Show Grounds, Nakuru West Queens played to a 1-1 draw when they welcomed Oserian Ladies. Diana Koske and Margaret Omweri each scored for the hosts & visitors respectively to ensure a point each for the two sides. Nakuru now lie fifth on 12 points while Oserian are in seventh on five points.
Meanwhile, Kibera Soccer Ladies beat Makolanders 3-0 at the Ligi Ndogo grounds. A brace from Laventine Lihemo and Cynthia Atieno ensured maximum points for Kibera. This leaves Makolanders on four points in seventh while Kibera are five points ahead a place above in sixth.
