Onduparaka FC defender Toha Rashid has apologized for today’s embarrassing 7-0 obliteration away to KCCA FC in a Ugandan Premier League tie at Philip Omondi Stadium.

Billed as match of the week owing to the two sides’ recent fine run and strong support base, the encounter disappointingly turned one sided, with the defending champions teaching their visitors from Arua a rude shock.

It will go down as the “Caterpillars” biggest ever topflight loss.

“My heart pains for the fans that travelled far distance to come watch the game and went home disappointed. Toha posted on his Facebook page.

He urged the fans to swallow the bitter pill however difficult as that is the nature of the game. He also promised an immediate response, “We need you more than you need us and it pains us more than it pains you but that’s football, we need to take it the way it is.”

“I want to apologize on behalf of my teammates and promise to bounce back as soon as possible.” He concluded.

Allan Okello netted a hat-trick, Robert Sentongo a brace with Paul Musamali and the leading league top scorer Geoffrey Sserunkuma grabbing a goal each.

The lose leaves Onduparaka hanging in the third spot in the table standings with 29 points, while KCCA have opened a 4-point gap at the helm with 38 points.
