Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has penned a deal with Kenya’s leading telecommunications company Safaricom to become their brand ambassador.

The contract was inked today in Nairobi in the presence of Bob Colymore, the Safaricom’s Chief Executive Officer. However, its finer details are not yet out.

The Harambee Stars captain tweeted:

Safaricom has disassociated itself from anything football, since falling out with the past Football Kenya Federation over its flagship grassroots tournament “Sakata Ball” a few years back, and the new move could signal its return to the nation’s most loved sport.

Wanyama joins former celebrated Kenyan international striker Dennis in becoming the face of a leading company in the country.

Oliech, whom Wanyama succeeded as the Harambee Stars captain, is the brand ambassador of betting firm Betway.
