An away goal from Roger Assale in the first leg semifinal last weekend sees TP Mazembe into the CAF Confederations Cup final after playing to a 0-0 draw in the second leg semifinal against Etoile du Sahel on Sunday afternoon.

The match took place at the Stade Frederic Kibassa Maliba in Lubumbashi.

TP Mazembe progressed on the away goal rule after playing to a 1-1 draw in the first leg semfinal in Sousse last weekend.

In the first leg the Tunisians claimed the lead through Hamza Lahmar’s first-half goal, only for the DR Congo side to hit back after the break through Roger Assale.

Roger Assale’s second half goal for TP Mazembe proved to be the difference between the two sides as neither could find the back of the net in what proved to be a rather dull second leg semifinal.

TP Mazembe will now face either MO Bejaia or FUS Rabat in the final over two legs on 28-30 October and 4-6 November.

FUS Rabat host MO Bejaia in their second leg semifinal later on Sunday night with the aggregate score of the match locked at 0-0.
