U20 WWCQ – Ethiopia ladies hand advantage to Black Princesses

Ethiopia settled for a disappointing 2-2 draw against Ghana in the first leg of the U20 Women World Cup qualifier played on Saturday 24 in Addis Ababa.

The home side started on shaky note scoring an own goal through Hassabe Muso four minutes into the game but they managed to calm their nerves thereafter and in the 15th minute red hot Loza Abera settled the tie with a lovely strike to the joy of the adoring home fans.

Abera put the Ethiopians ahead grabbing a brace in the 21st minute as she continued with her sizzling form in the qualifiers that has seen her carry the team almost single handedly thus far.

However Kate Adu spoilt the party for the hosts as she equalized for the Black Princesses deep into the match, to give the west Africans two crucial away goals ahead of the return leg.

Aggregate winner will qualify for the finals slated for Papua New Guinea from 28 November to 16th November 2016.
