Discussion were not easy at first as Algerian football federation tried hard to lure their former coach back to the fold.But after intensive talks  Bosnian manager  Vahid Halilhodzic has finally agreed to a deal with Zetchi and he has been given new assurances such as the full backing of the Algerian football federation to be able to take up the offer.

Algeria football federation have worked out all modalities in regards to financial agreement with any pending issues being amicably agreed upon.Halilhodzic had requested for specific entitlements in regards to his salary which were quickly thrashed out by the federation as the  66-year-old  is set to take the job left vacant after Rabah Madjer was relieved off his duties.

Halilhodzic most recently took charge of Japan, leading them to the 2018 World Cup before losing his job for unknown reasons just days to the World Cup

Vahid is reportedly currently at home living in Lille , and after the World Cup he will sit down with Zetchi and an official announcement should be made before the end of July.

Many Algerians wanted to see him return after he led the Desert Foxes to the last 16 of the 2014 World Cup, losing to eventual world champions Germany.

His first game in charge of his second spell is set to be the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia. His first spell lasted from 2011 to 2014, and he was responsible for discovering the likes of Essaid Belkalem, Islam Slimani and Riyad Mahrez.
