Its exciting times for Tottenham Hotspur after Kenyan skipper Victor Wanyama stepped up his recovery from injury and could return to the first team very soon.

Speaking exclusively to soka25east.com Wanyama was elated at his recovery “I feel so so fine and on the road to full fitness.I am almost back and its exciting after missing most of the season”

“As a footballer an injury is always a low moment but I am glad its now behind me and just counting the days I have really missed playing competitive football”an elated Wanyama said.

Tottenham Manager Mauricio Pochettino echoed Wanyama’s sentiments saying the instrumental midfielder has shown tremendous improvement and was progressing well with his rehabilitation .

Wanyama christened “the lion of Muthurwa”  has been on the sidelines owing to a cartilage knee injury he suffered in Spurs’ 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on August 20.

He had been  an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s team since his arrival from St. Mary’s Stadium in June 2016, has missed the majority of this season, playing just 98 minutes in two English Premier League games this campaign.

On Wanyama’s arrival at Tottenham they stopped upon their usual direct economy, instead they became tempered with poise and delicacy and at the heart of the transformation was Victor Wanyama. He became the creative hub through which tempo and the majority of the teams attacking endeavours were channelled through.

Ahead of a busy festive period, the Argentine gaffer is elated with the midfielder’s recovery but failed to disclose a specific date for his return. “We’re positive, his knee is reacting well but it’s still too early to say when it’s possible for him to join the group,” Pochettino told the club’s official website.

“We need to assess him day by day, week by week and we’ll see in the next few weeks if he can join the group. But yes, he’s in a good mood and we are happy so far. He has to keep working and if all goes well, hopefully he can join the group as soon as possible.”

Tottenham Hotspur are placed sixth in the English top-flight log with 25 points from 15 games and will welcome Stoke City at Wembley Stadium on Saturday
