Kenyan skipper and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama missed  Saturday’s Premier League trip to Everton and will also miss his  team’s first Champions League game of the season against Borussia Dortmund next week with a knee injury, his club said.

Wanyama was injured in training and missed Spurs’ last league match against Burnley. He withdrew from Kenya’s squad for their recent friendly international with Mozambique and Tottenham said on Thursday he would be out for a “few weeks”.

Speaking to www.soka25east.com few days ago  an optimistic Wanyama also known as the Lion of Muthurwa alluded to the fact that the physiotherapy sessions were going on well and he was optimistic of a quick recovery.

“I am currently undergoing physiotherapy sessions and i am happy with the progress i hope to get back in shape soon”Wanyama said.

Wanyama could be out for few weeks as he recuperates from the nagging knee injury.He is has been a consistent figure in the team since joining in June 2016 from Southampton.
