Al Masry played to a 0-0 draw with Vita Club in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup semi-final first-leg match at the Al Masry Club Stadium in Egypt on Wednesday.

Vita Club will now host Al Masry in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the second-leg match in three weeks time.

Egyptian side Al Masry pushed for an early goal which would have unsettled their Congolese visitors in the opening stages of the game.

The Vita Club defence which was marshalled by Yannick Litombo Bangala were able to the contain Al Masry.

The Black Dolphins had a good opportunity to beak the deadlock through their leading marksman Jean-Marc Mundele Makusu.

However, the 26-year-old forward’s effort could not beat Al Masry goalkeeper Ahmed Masoud as the visitors looked to break the deadlock

Al Masry and Vita Club were locked at 0-0 at the interval.

The Black Dolphins continued to launch attacks against the Gree Eagles after the restart and they introduced Emmanuel Ngudikama.

The Vita Club forward had scored twice against Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

Al Masry’s Ghanaian midfielder Torric Jebrin saw his effort deflected out by the Vita Club defence as the hosts looked to grab a late winning goal.

Both teams pushed for a late goal in the closing stages of the game, but they could not score and ultimately, Al Masry drew 0-0 with Vita Club.
