Volcano F.C won the 2016 Comoros Cup after defeating rivals Foboni FC 5-3 in a dramatic penalty shout-out in Moroni Stadium on Tuesday.

In front of a packed stadium attacking midfielder Baina Baka opened scoring for Fomboni FC in the 13th minute when he powerfully fired home from long range to register the first goal of the match.

Volacano FC reacted quickly to the goal five minutes later when Ali Moindjié equalized in the 18th to restore the balance.

Volcano had several attempts but their shots never found the back of the net.

The situation in the first half did not change and after the break the two teams played in a tight approach.Towards the end Volcano could have scored more goals but their inability to pin Fomboni back into their own half gave Fomboni chances to put dangerous attacks.

The match went to extra time with no goals coming in a highly tensed match.

The tie went into penalties to decide the winner with Volcano Club winning by 5-3 grabbing the cup from FC Fomboni who were the defending champions.

Volcano FC will represent Comoros at next years CAF Confederations Cup as well as Arab Nations Cup that will be held in the month of September.
