Tusker FC old boy Allan Wanga has returned to his former side, meanwhile, the Brewers have sacked assistant Coach George Owoko.

The former AFC Leopards striker penned one and a half year contract with the 2012 champions from Azam FC of Tanzania as confirmed by Tusker’s media officer Diana Yonah.

Yonah also confirmed the dismissal of Owoko.

“It’s true we have brought back Allan Wanga. It’s also true we have let go Owoko, but there’s no immediate replacement.

Wanga, won the league with Tusker in 2007, the year he bagged golden boot award in the league. He left for professional stint with Petro Athletico of Angola where he also lifted Girabola.

His football journey took him to Asia, Europe and back to Africa with El Merreikh of Sudan before he landed in Tanzania in 2015.

Owoko together with Head Coach Paul Nkata joined the technical bench in January 2016. The duo have lately come under heavy criticism for crushing out of KPL Top 8 Knockout Tournament in the hands of defending champions Gor Mahia at the semi final stage.

Meanwhile, Tusker have also signed the reigning KPL new player of the year George Mandela from Muhoroni Youth; Mandela blossomed under Nkata at Muhoroni, but has been off color since the Coach left.

At the same time Timonah Wanyonyi who was dropped by Tusker has found a new home with National Super League side Nakumatt FC.

Wanyonyi is yet to settle ever since crossing over to his childhood team AFC Leopards unceremoniously from Gor Mahia in 2014.
