Cote d’Ivoire and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has rescinded his decision to retire from international football.

Toure, 34, quit international football September 2016 with over 100 caps after captaining the Elephants to 2015 Africa Cup of Nations glory.

“I love my country and I am free for the national selection,” he tweeted.

“I want to help the next generation and use all my experience so that all Ivorians are proud.”

The four times African Player of the Year joined Man City from Barcelona in 2010 but has recently found minimal play time starting just three Premier League games this season.

Toure has also won BBC African Footballer of the Year Award twice.

Ivory Coast failed to qualify for the World Cup 2018 but are still in running for a spot in the 2019 AFCON.
