Zambia has been crowned the 2017 U-17 Cosafa Castle Cup Champions after netting three goals within 10 minutes past the stubborn Mauritius and hosts of the Championiship.

A large crownwd of Mauritius fans who turned out in numbers to support their team was slinced when Zambian skipper Prince Mumba sprung a goal out of nowhere in the 71st minute with w delightful drive outside the box.

A speculative long range effort from substitute Christopher Phiri landed in the back of the net in the 77th minute to extended Zambia’s lead.

Then Kingsley Hakwiya shot from a long range which went on the back of the net breaking whatever little resistance remained in the Mauritian side and cement the title for the Junior Chipolopolo.

Zambia also top scorer prize that went to Martin Njobvu who scored five goals with one assist while Prince Mumba walked away with the man of the match award.

Mauritius striker Jean Aristide was named player of the tournament while Malawi goalkeeper Kennedy Nankaima was voted best goalie.
