Ze Maria to take over at Gor Mahia as Head Coach

A day after Frank Nuttall ditched Gor Mahia for Egyptian giants Zamalek SC, Soka25east.com can exclusively reveal that his replacement is on his way.

Former Brazilian international Jose Mercelo Ferrairra “Ze Maria” is expected in Nairobi in two days time to assume the role as the new head Coach.

The decision was arrived at yesterday’s Executive Committee meeting in Nairobi.

“Air tickets will be sent to him (Jose) today (Tuesday 8). He should be in Nairobi by Thursday.He wants to come with his coaching staff.” A source to Soka25east.com.

The 42 year old former right full back and midfielder spent most of his professional life in his native Brazil and Italy where he played for Parma FC, Inter Milan and Perugia.

He was capped 25 times by Brazil. He won Bronze with the Samba Boys at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

His Coaching career started in Italy with Serie D side SSD Group Citta Di Castello before moving to FC Cantanzaro.

He has also worked in Saudi Arabia.
