Zambia giants Zesco United were held to a goalless draw by visiting  C.D. Primeiro de Agosto in a  CAF Champions League Group D match at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Zambia on Tuesday.

The match begun like a house on fire as Zesco looked destined for a win as they fired from all cylinders with Zega Mambo and Lameck Banda pilling pressure on Agosto defence.

It was a torrid first half for Agosto as their keeper Toni forced a beautiful two brilliant saves within five minutes from the start whistle.

Zenga was at it again in the 26th minute when his rasping shot was once again blocked by the impressive Agosto keeper Toni to deny Zesco another chance despite their fight for an early goal.

The first half ended goalless and the visitors were able to go to the break lucky not to have conceded a goal despite the heavy attack from Zesco.

The second half was a see saw affair with D’Agosto managing to put out the fire as Zesco Gaffer George Lwandamina rung in changes bringing on Winston Kalengo .

Banda found some space outside the Agosto box in the 71st minute and he unleashed a low shot which was saved by Toni.The rest of the game was a balanced affair as the visitors held on to the draw As a result, Zambian side Zesco and Angola’s Agosto remain third, and fourth respectively on the Group D standings.
