2020 UNAF Women’s Tournament: Mauritania finish bottom, North African meet ends in stalemate in penultimate round

Morocco hammered Mauritania 5-0 in the ongoing UNAF tournament at the El Kram Stadium, Tunisia to move top of the table standings ahead of their final match on Saturday.

Morocco have nine points, three more than Tanzania who next tackle Tunisia in the last day of the competition.


Mauritania have effectively finished the tournament bottom of the five table standings with zero points. They have conceded a total of twenty goals.


Meanwhile, North African sides of Tunisia and Algeria played to a 1-1 draw at the same venue. Both are tied on four points but Algeria lie top of Tunisia on goal difference.

Their games on Saturday will determine final positional standings.


The final round of matches take place on the 22nd to determine the overall winner. As it stands, Morocco are on pole position to clinch the title.

They play Algeria as Tunisia collides with their closest rivals Tanzania.
