AFC Leopards held by KCB

By Administrator,

Kcb were held to a 1-1 goal by AFC Leopards in a thrilling mid-week encounter played at the Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Former International Francis Ouma broke the deadlock early in the sixth minute after a sublime cross from returnee Paul Mungai Kiongera as KCB led 1-0.

Ouma lost a clear cut chance later in the 19th minute as his sweet volley hit the woodwork with Keeper Wyclife Kasaya well beaten.

KCB went to the break with the deserved lead but upon resumption Ingwe who returned back to the country on Monday after crushing out Defense of Ethiopia in the Caf Confederations cup came but like a house on fire looking for the elusive equalizer.

Former KCB’s star Jacob Keli who recently moved to Ingwe was the toast of this team as he pulled up an equalizer in the 58th minute capitalising from a swift Allan Wanga cross to beat keeper Okinda from close range in KCB’s goal.

James Situma could have put Leopards ahead from the penalty spot awarded after a KCB player handled the ball inside the box in the dying minutes of the game but his shot went wide giving a sigh of relief to KCB who held on to the 1-1 draw in their first match in the Kenyan premier league.
