The Black Stars of Ghana pulled off a houdini act to stay alive in a pulsating and tense encounter Against fellow world cup participants in Mongomo.Captain Asamoah Gyan showed how much of a collosus he is for the Black Stars with a last gasp goal when Ghana appeared to be heading closer to the exit door in Equatorial Guinea.
The Desert Foxes,with a win in their opener against South Africa,appeared content with a draw and sat back,letting Ghana do most of the chasing.The West Africans,true to form,never dropped their heads and pressed on,even after the influential Ayew siblings were benched for fresher legs.
Mubarak Wakaso’s long searching ball was brought down by Gyan,leaving his marker for dead before finding the bottom corner to send the stadium into delirium.
The captain missed Ghana’s opening defeat against Senegal with dengue fever.
South Africa play Senegal later tonight.
